Newcomer Matt Gary to Perform At Gift Of Music Benefit Concert

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE COUNTRY MUSIC NEWCOMER MATT GARY TO INTRODUCE NEW SINGLE "THE DAYS YOU LIVE FOR" AT THE GIFT OF MUSIC BENEFIT CONCERT IN NASHVILLE NASHVILLE, Tennessee (January 19, 2009)-Newcomer Matt Gary (17 Music Entertainment) is slated to join a cast of celebrity performers at The Gift of Music benefit concert (for the benefit of the W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School) on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Wildhorse Saloon, in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Presented by The Dustin J. Wells Foundation, the concert will begin at 7:00PM. Matt Gary will take the stage along with Dolly Parton, Ronnie Dunn, Kellie Pickler, Keith Anderson, Jennifer Hanson, Mark Nesler and more. The Gift of Music was established in honor of Dustin Jack Wells (son of Dennis J. Wells, D.D.S. and nephew of music producer Kent Wells, both active members of the Nashville community) who lost his life as a result of a car accident in 2005. The annual concert is held to substantiate a fund to reach out to others in Dustin's honor. Last year's charity concert raised more than $50,000. The W.O. Smith/Nashville Community Music School (www.wosmith.org) is a nonprofit educational institution created for the purpose of making quality music instruction available to children from low-income families while encouraging student participation in the cultural life of the community through concert attendance and performance. Over 350 students, ages 7 to 18, participate in over 500 different courses. The school offers introductory classes for pre-instrumentalist, individual and group lessons in all band and orchestra instruments, piano, guitar and voice and also provides computer-assisted instruction in music fundamentals and theory, classes in composition, music technology and recording. The faculty is comprised of studio musicians, symphony players, college professors, public school teachers, church musicians, private teachers and university students who donate their time to teach the students. "Helping children is something that is really important to me, it always has been. I've been a participant in the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Program and performed at various events for the March of Dimes, and when I was asked to participate in this effort, I was moved," said Matt. "EVERY child deserves a chance and this is an extraordinary opportunity to enable more children to live life and enjoy life through the magic of music. I'm honored to be a part of The Gift of Music." Matt is slated to release his new single entitled "The Days You Live For" (written and produced by Frank Myers) in early April. He will perform the song for the first time in front of a live audience at the concert event. "This song is a gift and an appropriate anthem for this event. There is a reason I selected this song to be my first release-and The Gift Of Music, and sharing it with the students of W. O. Smith School, might be the very reason.
