Charlie Allen Burns up the Road AND the Dance Floors with 'Why Ask Why'

Charlie Allen Continues Cross-Country Trek to Promote Latest Single "Why Ask Why"

As it Climbs the Radio Charts - Allen's Rockin' Track Lights Up Clubs and Honky Tonks Across America with New Dance Promotion

NASHVILLE, TN (October 21, 2008) – Charlie Allen has been a busy man of late. He and his team have been on a cross country radio tour for the past several months to promote his latest single, "Why Ask Why."

Over the summer, Allen visited stations all across the West - and he has just returned from a run of states including Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

As "Why Ask Why" makes its steady climb up the radio charts, the single is also gathering steam at over 100 clubs and dance halls across America - via Marco Promotions' "Club Connection"- with a hot, toe tappin' dance that has been created for the song.

"Club Connection's" Bobbe Morhiser comments: "I took 'Why Ask Why' with me to the Mishnock & Friends Country Dance Weekend in up state New York this past weekend and the dance instructors indicated to me that they were eager and excited to get back to their dance halls to add the song and line dance to their weekly schedule!"

Allen and his label, River Run Records, will be on location in central Tennessee this week to shoot a video for the single with director/producer, Glenn Sweitzer of Fresh Film + Design.

MEDIA ALERT / Laura Bryna And Countryhound.com Mascot “Webb” Team Up for Nashville Humane Association Fundraiser

Laura Bryna And Countryhound.com Mascot “Webb” Team Up for Nashville Humane Association Fundraiser

Nashville, TN- Believing every dog, cat (and bird!) should have its day, Equity Music Group recording artist Laura Bryna has teamed up with the Countryhound.com website and its mascot “Webb,” for the “Be A Humane Hero” promotion. Over the next several weeks, the first 300 people who donate $20 or more to the Nashville Humane Association will receive a special Laura Bryna/Webb “dog tag” that includes a code for a free download of Bryna’s latest single, “Hometown Heroes.” A longtime animal lover and owner of several rare birds, Bryna is always willing and ready to pitch in to help animals in need, so this Humane Association fundraiser in association with Countryhound.com was a fun way to draw attention to an important cause.

“Animals have a special place in my heart. I adopted a beautiful shelter dog as a gift for my manager. I have 3 pet birds who are my babies and part of my family. I hope this promotion with Country Hound will bring awareness to the Nashville Humane Association and help homeless animals in the Nashville community find forever homes. I’m proud to be a ‘Humane Heroe,’” says Bryna.

“Hometown Heroes” is currently receiving airplay across the country and has been adopted by the Air National Guard as the themesong for its new national advertising campaign. For more information on the Nashville Humane Association fundraiser, go to http://www.countryhound.com/.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (October 14, 2008)-Rocky Comfort Records recording artist Michael Scott will make a special trip to visit the troops at the Warrior Transition Center in Hawaii later this month. He is scheduled to appear at the Schofield Barracks/25th Infantry Division located in Oahu, Hawaii on Saturday, October 25 where he will mix and mingle and perform for the army soldiers. Located on an 18,000-acre site in central Oahu, the army base is the largest post in Hawaii.

"The special group of men and women who are at the Warrior Transition Center are those who have gone overseas to fight and have returned to our homeland with a physical or emotional impairment," Scott introduced. "This is my second performance for the troops (I went to Iraq last Thanksgiving) and the folks at WTC are 'this close' to returning to their families. I'm in hopes that the music brightens their faces and heightens their spirit to make them feel like they're one step closer to home. It's an extraordinary experience and I'm pleased to visit with my American brothers and sisters who sacrifice their lives so that we can all live ours freely."

Michael will host a listening party at the barracks to introduce his music from his new CD, entitled BRING IT ON, to the troops during a special luncheon. Following the luncheon, Scott will perform in an acoustic show and host a personal meet and greet and autograph signing session at the conclusion of the event.

"The Hawaii Army Department of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation thanks Michael Scott for spending time with our troops and performing for them. Opportunities to partner with great Americans like Michael play a giant role in keeping the Army community strong," said Matt Enoch, CPRP, CPSI, CPP--FMWR Recreation Center Program Manager.

Scott recently made his official introduction to country radio in August with his debut single "Ray Ray's Juke Joint." His CD is slated for a 2009 release.

[COLUMN FROM TEDDY GENTRY] "HONEST TO GOOD NEWS"

HONEST-TO-GOOD-NEWS
By Teddy Gentry

Time to "Turn It Off"

The GREEN movement is becoming more prevalent and Americans are starting to catch on!

Although we are in an election year, issues such as global warming and energy conservation are simply not political issues; they are "mankind" issues and Americans can take small steps to make a difference to lower our carbon footprint. It can be as simple as just "TURNING IT OFF."

Turning off lights and appliances when we leave the room doesn't take a lot of our own human energy, but it saves the earth's energy while lowering our electric bill at the same time. Below are some suggestions as to how we can give back to mother earth just by "TURNING IT OFF."

  • Unplug small appliances (such as toasters, cell phone chargers, hair dryers, etc.) when not in use.
  • Replace one or all of your incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs.
  • (Changing just one 75-watt bulb to a compact fluorescent light will cut roughly 1,300 pounds of global warming pollution. They also last up to 15 times as long and save you money!) Source: Environmental Defense Fund
  • Keep light fixtures and bulbs clean from dust.
  • Turn off lights and TV when you leave the room.
  • Turn off your computer and/or monitor when not in use.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator. This helps you get more exercise and it saves energy.
  • Change your thermostat settings just a few degrees. Turning the thermostat down in the winter and up slightly during the summer months will save energy and pennies.
  • Consider cooking via the microwave or toaster oven rather than the conventional oven. If everyone in North America cooked exclusively with a microwave for a year, we'd save as much energy as the continent of Africa consumes during that time. Source: Kostigen, T. & Rogers, E., The Green Book
  • Become a smart driver. Good driving habits can account for as much as a 25% increase in fuel mileage. Don't "push" the engine by stepping on the gas; ease to accelerate. Drive at or below the speed limit, avoid driving aggressively, maintain proper air pressure in your tires and turn off your car when idling. Don't fill your tank to more than half full; every 100 lbs. of additional weight decreases fuel mileage by 1%.
  • Make the green energy switch. Buy "clean energy"/renewable energy blocks from your electric service. Two blocks of green power each month for a year is the equivalent to recycling 480 pounds of aluminum (15,322 cans) or 1,766 pounds of newspaper. Blocks are only $4 each. A green power investment of $8 per month on your electric bill is equivalent to not driving your car for four months. Source: Nashville Electric Service

Something else to consider...
Turn up the new single "Turn It Off" just released by country recording artist Eric Durrance (Wind-up Nashville)--on radio now. The tune features a driving rhythm, today's day-and-age language and lyrics that roll right off the tongue, and it was written by Ronnie Rogers, Josh Leo, and yours truly. Download it TODAY from iTunes or via his web site www.ericdurrance.com.

Time Flies is an eleven song collection featuring one song co-written by Montgomery, "Brothers Till the End." According to Montgomery the album was aptly named becoming a sort of retrospective look at his career. "I took themes from different eras of my career along with sounds that influenced me over my life to create this album. There are the serious songs, some with tongue-in-cheek humor, a little romance as well as some that reflect a philosophical side. You'll hear influences from the Eagles to Lionel Richie to traditional country." Time Flies can be heard in its entirety at www.digitalrodeo.com/johnmichaelmontgomery and at http://www.cmt.com/.

Fans can catch up with Montgomery by tuning in to GAC throughout the month of October. The network will be airing interviews on programs such as "GAC Nights," "The Collection," "Master Series," and "On the Streets." He also sat down with Country Weekly for an exclusive interview for their October 20 issue.

Montgomery spends October 14 in Greenville, North Carolina, meeting fans at an area Walmart. He continues the tour in Raleigh, Knoxville, Montgomery, Houston, Oklahoma City and Wichita. Fan can purchase a special edition of the album exclusively at Walmart that includes the video for his first single, "If You Ever Went Away." On October 18, John visits fans at an Ocala, Florida, Gander Mountain and on October 21, he'll visit with the military at Fort Hood, Texas.

The new single, "Forever," is quickly climbing the charts. Written by James T. Slater, it was a song that grabbed Montgomery right from the start. "It's a pure power ballad; pure John Michael. It chases both sides – the sensitive side and that rock side. I think the thing just rocks."

With a musical career that spans nine studio albums and three greatest hits packages, John Michael's contribution to the country music format includes hits such as "I Swear," "Be My Baby Tonight," "I Can Love You Like That," "Sold (the Grundy County Auction Incident)" and "Life's A Dance," among many others. He's earned 15 number one singles, sold over 16 million albums, enjoyed cross-over success in the pop and R&B market, and received numerous industry and fan-voted awards, including CMA Awards, ACM Awards and American Music Awards. His last single at radio, "Letters from Home," (2004) reached #2 on Billboard's Country Singles chart. Montgomery works with booking agency Buddy Lee Attractions and continues to tour heavily.

AMBASSADOR OF MUSIC CITY, DAVID ANDERSEN, PROVIDES HARMONY AMIDST DISCORD OF HISTORIC DEBATE

Andersen's Patriotic Music Charms Guests at Private Viewing Party Hosted by Tennessee Representative, Jim Cooper

Nashville, Tenn. - October 10, 2008 - On Tuesday night, October 7, David Andersen, "Ambassador of Music City," performed at the Belcourt Theatre in Hillsboro Village for Tennessee Representative Jim Cooper's (D) private viewing of the historic presidential debates between Senators Barrack Obama and John McCain. Nashville was brimming with political discord, from pundits to protestors.

As the eyes of the world focused on Belmont University just a few blocks away, all ears at the Belcourt were tuned to the harmonious sounds of David Andersen. "Music is a universal uniter...it can inspire despite political party," said Andersen after performing a medley of patriotic tunes. "It ignores cultural diversity and breaks through language barriers. It can be enjoyed by all."

"David's music was the perfect antidote to all the partisanship down the street," said John Spragens, a spokesman for Rep. Jim Cooper. "In fact, Washington would probably work a lot better if everyone would just relax and listen to his guitar."

Recently recognized by Associated Press and featured on Grammy.com, Andersen is also known as the "Ambassador of Music City," welcoming more than one million visitors to the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum's with his unique sound, warm personality and vintage guitar. BLAKE SHELTON IS SMOKIN’ WITH STARTIN’ FIRES - IN STORES NOVEMBER 18

BLAKE SHELTON IS SMOKIN' WITH
STARTIN' FIRES - IN STORES NOVEMBER 18

Nashville, TN - Multi-platinum artist Blake Shelton will release his fifth album, STARTIN' FIRES on Warner Bros. Records November 18, 2008. The album is produced by acclaimed producer Scott Hendricks (Brooks & Dunn, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson).

On the heels of Shelton's fourth #1 single, "Home," the first single from STARTIN' FIRES is "She Wouldn't Be Gone." The powerful vocals and hard-driving beat relays the heart wrenching pain of love lost and how it didn't have to be. The song is written by Jennifer Adan and Cory Batten and is quickly climbing the country singles charts. Shelton co-wrote two of the songs on the album, "Here I Am," with Dean Dillon and "Bare Skin Rug" with Miranda Lambert, who also is featured on vocals on the track.

"I'd like for this album to start some musical fires in some new fans and maybe fan the flames for the loyal fans who have been with me for a while," says Shelton. "So, I named it STARTIN' FIRES – which comes from one of the songs on the album, 'Good At Startin' Fires.'"

Shelton's rise to the top started with an impressive 2001 debut, which earned him the title of Radio & Records magazine's breakthrough country artist that year and multiple CMA and ACM Award nominations followed. His hits run the gamut from the sweet sentiments of his six-week #1 debut single, "Austin," and three additional multi-week #1 singles with "The Baby," "Some Beach" and "Home." Shelton has had multiple #1 videos, including "Ol' Red," "Heavy Liftin'," "Some Beach," "Goodbye Time," "Nobody But Me," "Don't Make Me," "The More I Drink" and "Home."

Shelton will embark on a co-headlining tour with Sony BMG artist Miranda Lambert in support of the new album on Oct. 3.
