DARON NOROOD JOINS ALL-STAR LINE-UP TO HONOR DR. MAYA ANGELOU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DARON NORWOOD JOINS ALL-STAR CELEBRITY ROSTER
TO HONOR DR. MAYA ANGELOU
At 80th Birthday Celebration
Proceeds To Benefit The Dr. Maya Angelou Teen Center
At The Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA, Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, GA, (April 28, 2008) – Country music songwriter and recording artist Daron Norwood has recently accepted the invitation to perform at a very special, prestigious event--the 80th Birthday celebration of Dr. Maya Angelou. As part of the elite group of personally selected entertainers, sports figures, civil rights activists, supporters and admirers who will gather to pay homage to this acclaimed author, poet, playwright and educator, Daron will perform at the gala to be held this Sunday evening, May 4 at the Woodruff Performing Arts Center, Atlanta Symphony Hall.

The tribute to Dr. Angelou will feature dance, musical performances, spiritual monologues, comedy routines and more. Other celebrities attending and/or performing include Quincy Jones, Chris Tucker, Nicole Ari Parker, Kenny Leon, Israel and New Breed, ASO Talent Development Program, Pearl Cleage, Candi Staton, Desiree Jackson Coleman, Kathleen Bertrand, George Faison, Pastor Paula White, Elder Bernice King, Ballethnic Dance Company, YMCA Teens, former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young and Dr. Walter Young. Atlanta-based actor/producer and playwright Tyler Perry and actress Lynn Whitfield will host.

Dr. Angelou, who has spent her lifetime uplifting and inspiring our nation's youth, is recognized as one of the great voices of American contemporary literature. During her illustrious career, she has penned a number of books and poems dedicated to children including "A Pledge To Rescue Our Youth," "Life Doesn't Frighten Me" and "My Painted House, My Friendly Chicken and Me." A reflection of her life through images is captured in the latest release entitled "Maya Angelou, A Glorious Celebration."

In kinship with Dr. Angelou's objectives for America's children, Daron Norwood is working toward the same goal. Simultaneously with his work in the country music industry, Daron is the founder of Keep It Straight USA (1997), an alcohol, drug and violence intervention program specifically created to cater to America's youth. As a nationwide program, Daron has appeared before more than 650,000 children. Just last year, Daron visited over 150 schools in the Southeast entertaining and reaching out to more than 180,000 students. Keep It Straight has been adopted by the United States Air Force Air Combat Command as their drug and alcohol abuse intervention program of choice. Daron's endeavor as the spearhead and voice of the program earned him recognition and the special invitation to bring the program to Russia. He's visited with the President (Clinton and Bush) on numerous occasions and most recently returned from a trip to Africa to film the documentary "Wth Open Eyes." The feature-length film provides a provocative look at the crisis in Sudan and follows five Americans through their extraordinary journey throughout Sudan as they meet Sudanese people who have been most affected by two decades of ethnic cleansing and genocide. The film raises awareness of the atrocities occurring in Sudan every day and shows that any individual can make a difference for the people of Sudan. (http://www.sudancan.com). Daron wrote the theme song ("With Open Eyes"). He will perform this song along with a special tune written specifically for the occasion, entitled "Travel Shoes," as his dedication to the renowned humanitarian.

"This is an honor of a lifetime," Norwood said. "…to pay homage to one of the most phenomenal and respected women in American history…I'm without words to truly describe how humbled I am."

Dr. Angelou's passion and commitment compelled her to become involved and support the Teen Center that now bears her name. The black-tie affair will raise funds to build the Dr. Maya Angelou Teen Center to be housed at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA complex in Atlanta, GA in support of fundamental community programs to positively impact children and their families. The cornerstone of the center will be its Leadership Academy, an educational facility where teens can assemble for tutoring, mentoring, computer training, college preparation classes and participate in intramural sports. The center will offer a safe, positive-play, nurturing and drug-free environment for teens.

All proceeds will benefit the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA. Contributions can be made to the Dr. May Angelou Teen Center by logging on to the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA at www.swy.ymcaatlanta.org. Tickets for the May 4 event are also available on this site.

Miranda Lambert - 1st Annual Charity Event Successful

FIRST ANNUAL MIRANDA LAMBERT "CAUSE FOR PAWS" RAISED OVER $100,000 FOR THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF EAST TEXAS

(Tyler, TX - April 25, 2008) -- The First Annual Miranda Lambert "Cause for the Paws" Wine Tasting Festival and Concert benefiting the Humane Society of East Texas held at the Villa di Felicita in Tyler Sunday, April 20th was a huge success. The event raised approximately $113,000 after expenses for the non-profit organization and will be the major fundraiser for the Humane Society and its animal shelter each year.

"I would like to thank Gayle Helms at the Humane Society of East Texas for inviting me to be a part of the first charity event for the shelter," says Lambert on her website. "Cause for the Paws" was a huge success for so many reasons! Delilah and I felt so honored to be a part of it and a heartfelt thank you goes out those that bought tickets, the sponsors and everyone who contributed in any way to help the abused and abandoned animals of East Texas."

Miranda praises the committee, volunteers, sponsors and food vendors as well as the The Villa di Felicita for what she calls "the most beautiful place ever." She gives a special thanks to her friends and peers who donated items and to "my friends, Blake Shelton, Adam Hood and Kacey Musgraves for giving of their time with and adding great music.

According to Gayle Helms, Executive Director for the Humane Society of East Texas, the sold-out event far surpassed expectations in terms of attendance and quality of the event itself. "We have received rave reviews from people in attendance, with many asking "How can you top this next year?"

Activities at Miranda Lambert's First Annual "Cause for the Paws";Wine Tasting Festival included a silent and live auction, food and wine tasting, a Meet and Mingle VIP private cocktail party for sponsors of the event and a concert with the four entertainers. Miranda's "bus buddy", Delilah, who is a Humane Society of East Texas alumnus, was also on hand. During the wine tasting, 15 Texas wines were featured including Miranda Lambert's own Red 55 Winery and Kiepersol Estates Vineyard and Winery.

Lambert, an animal lover and Lindale native, chose the Humane Society of East Texas as her charity and has been a supporter for several years. In 2007, Miranda adopted Delilah, a small white long-haired terrier from the Humane Society. When fans offer gifts to Miranda, she encourages them to make contributions to the Humane Society instead.

CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STORE® ADDS AARON TIPPIN TO EXCLUSIVE MUSIC COLLECTION

,
CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STORE® ADDS AARON TIPPIN TO EXCLUSIVE MUSIC COLLECTION

Exclusive CD release honors fatherhood and the impact Aaron's father had in his life

LEBANON, TENN. (April 24, 2008) – Building on its reputation as a welcome home for country music artists, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. will be the exclusive home of Aaron Tippin’s newest CD entitled He Believed. On sale at all Cracker Barrel locations beginning May 6, He Believed features six classic tracks and six recently recorded songs, including the title song which is Aaron’s incredibly moving tribute to his father.

“Although this CD is dedicated to my Dad, I hope it speaks to everyone who has had a mentor like he was to me,” says Tippin. “I am grateful to Cracker Barrel for believing in me and this music. I am honored to partner up with Cracker Barrel on this project that is so dear to my heart.”

Similar to his previous #1 hit records, Aaron and his wife, Thea, wrote several of the recently recorded songs on this record, including He Believed. The song is a touching story inspired by the unexpected death of Aaron’s father in 2005. The lyrics powerfully describe the emotional connection between Aaron and his father who was also his best friend and mentor. He Believed also features six of Aaron’s top recordings including: Working Man’s PHD, Whole Lotta Love On The Line and I Got It Honest.

“Cracker Barrel is pleased to work with an artist who shares our opinion that integrity and being of service to others is important,” says Peter Keiser, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Marketing. “This approach is summed up in the title of his hit song, ‘You've Got To Stand For Something,’ and working with Aaron on this very special CD project has been an honor and a pleasure.”

Available May 6 at all Cracker Barrel locations and online at crackerbarrel.com, He Believed is a powerful addition to Cracker Barrel’s growing collection of authentic country music. In the last year, Cracker Barrel has released exclusive recordings by Alabama, Lonestar, Josh Turner and Merle Haggard.

George Strait Celebrates 56th #1!

FrontPage Publicity
GEORGE STRAIT CELEBRATES HIS UNPRECEDENTED 56TH
CHART-TOPPER WITH "I SAW GOD TODAY"

KING GEORGE HAS MORE #1 HITS IN A SINGLE CHART FORMAT
THAN ANY OTHER RECORDING ARTIST

Nashville, TN (April 21, 2008) George Strait, The King of Country Music, has more #1 hits in a single chart format than any other recording artist, including all genres of music. As "I Saw God Today" sits at the #1 spot on Billboard/R&R, one should take notice that it's been a great few weeks for George Strait. His 37th album, Troubadour, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and now he has an unprecedented total of 56 #1 singles to his name.

"I would just like to say thanks to all my fans out there," says Strait. "To have a number one record is very special, whether it's your first or one of many. 'I Saw God Today' is a beautifully written song which reaches very tender places in many people's hearts. I would like to thank Rodney Clawson, Monty Criswell, and Wade Kirby and congratulate them on the success of their efforts in writing this great song. God Bless You All."

Luke Lewis, Chairman of UMG Nashville, states, "All of us at Universal Music Group are proud to be associated with George Strait. It is a privilege to work with him at a time when his work has put him in the Hall Of Fame and he continues to shatter every record in the book."

"George Strait is one of music's most consistent hitmakers for a reason - he knows a hit song when he hears one and he only sings it if it fits him," reports Billboard Magazine and Entertainment Weekly proclaims, "George Strait is the most reliable record-maker and biggest one-man hit factory in any genre of music." USA Today calls Strait a "Singer's Singer" and Rolling Stone says, "the hit single 'I Saw God Today' is one example of why folks call Strait 'King George' - although this monarch is a uniter, not a divider."

"Happy Mother's Day" - A New Classic Song by singer songwriter Killian Garnet MacGeraghty

"Happy Mother's Day" - A New Classic Song by singer songwriter Killian Garnet MacGeraghty

San Francisco, CA – April 2008 - How many of us in our busy lives have that moment when we realize that Mother's Day is upon us and we've not gotten the card in the mail or the flowers ordered? No head slap needed because MacGeraghty, best known as front man and ringleader for San Francisco's legendary rock & power-pop band, The Gun & Doll Show, recently released a collection of songs that include the catchy and memorable not-to-mention free download-able "Happy Mother's Day" from his Celebration Songs CD (Glitter and Glue Publishing). In the short time since its release, "Happy Mother's Day", has been downloaded over 85,000 times. He's on to something for sure. MacGeraghty reflects on what inspired him to write a song about mothers saying, "I come from a family of five kids, so I know it takes tireless devotion, non-stop effort and the patience of an angel to be a mother. As kids, my brothers and sisters and I took for granted that we were always provided for even when times were tough, and naturally we didn't know to be thankful. I always wanted to make some kind of tribute to mothers everywhere. So I'm so glad this song is traveling on its own steam. Mothers are so deserving."

Local music critic Dwight Bemisderfer of METRO SPIRIT says of the Celebration Songs CD, "It's hooky and playful, yet tender; and often more wistful, in fact, than celebratory. Yet each song looks at a unique aspect of a quiet, normal life." Celebration Songs may seem like a divergent departure for a pop/rocker like MacGeraghty, but these songs feel right at home. Melodic and finely crafted songs have been his signature, regardless of genre, so it's no surprise that his first solo project has these qualities. Simple, timeless songs from the heart of a complex and thoroughly modern artist.

Check out some of the inspiration fans have taken from this song with these videos:

MacGeraghty comes from a long line of Irish performers and entertainers and says, "Writing has always been an intense pleasure of mine, and it's in my blood. " An artistic impresario- writer, composer, vocalist, film-maker, band-leader, performance artist and ultra-creative marketer- MacGeraghty keeps the creative edge sharp and this album shows a more reflective side, a celebration of the little victories life offers. His famed San Francisco band, The Gun & Doll Show, has evolved into what CNET.com has said is "one of the Bay Area's most revered power-pop acts, distinguished by…their ardent determination to entertain their fans." MacGeraghty has received national press from Maxim and Playboy among others for founding and leading The 50 Guitar Orchestra, a huge musical collaboration of local artists.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music recording artist Mark Chesnutt (Lofton Creek Records) became an unfortunate and unsuspecting domino in the American Airlines' "grounding" last weekend when the flurry of canceled flights forced his band and road crew to rearrange their entire travel schedule—forcing Mark to cancel one of his shows altogether.

American Airlines canceled 933 flights across the nation on Thursday, April 10, 2008 to inspect the air vessels for potential wiring hazards in wheel wells that could cause fires or problems with landing gear on the MD-80 jets. Scheduled to depart Nashville's BNA Airport that day, Chesnutt's band and crew were among the thousands of passengers who suffered the chaos in airports across the country as they attempted to make their way to Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas to join Chesnutt for the "Salute to Our Heroes" benefit concert appearance at the military base.

Despite aggressive efforts, American Airlines was unable to secure flights to get Chesnutt's gang from Music City to "somewhere" in the Lone Star state. The officials at Fort Hood stepped up to purchase tickets on Southwest Airlines to get Chesnutt's band to Killeen. Chesnutt, a featured artist at the concert event, (and his band) successfully made the gig to perform in front of an audience in excess of 50,000. The "Salute to Our Heroes" concert, organized by Fort Hood's Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation was a closed celebration aimed at honoring veterans of the war on terrorism and their families. Military and family members, retirees, Gold Star families, Department Of Defense civilians and contractors were in attendance and more than 80,000 enjoyed the festivities.

This was Chesnutt's first appearance at Fort Hood -- the only two-division post in the United States (1st Cavalry Division and the 4th Infantry Division) and home to the III Corps. To "Mark" the occasion, after his show, Chesnutt signed autographs at his merchandise table for nearly three hours, spontaneously and graciously electing to give away t-shirts, hats and CD's to those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.

"These men and women put themselves at risk for us when they go out and fight for our freedoms. The very least I can do is sign a few autographs and give this minimal gift—a hat or a t-shirt—to show my appreciation in return," Chesnutt said.

Further problems with American Airlines carriers prevented the band and crew from catching a connecting flight the following day resulting in the cancellation of Chesnutt's April 12 performance at Cattle Annie's in Lynchburg, Virginia. "Just goes to show, it's not 'always' faster to fly and it's best to just ROLL WITH THE FLOW!" Chesnutt said in jest. The Lynchburg show is to be rescheduled in the coming months.

Mark Chesnutt is scheduled to release his next CD, ROLLIN' WITH THE FLOW, in late June.

    About Belle Meade Plantation:

Named one of "America's 10 Grandest Mansions" by Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel magazine, the 30-acre Belle Meade Plantation is rich with 200 years of Tennessee history. The limestone columns of the 1853 Greek Revival Antebellum home are riddled with the scars of a Civil War skirmish. A few paces away, a monument to Enquirer, the first American-bred horse ever to win the English Derby, recounts a time when the plantation was a world-renowned equine nursery and stud farm famous for breeding and training championship race horses. Recent Kentucky Derby winners Funny Cide and Barbarro, even racing legends like Secretariat and Seabiscuit, can trace their bloodlines back to the plantation's breeding stock.

Located at 5025 Harding Road in Nashville, Tennessee, Belle Meade Plantation is maintained and preserved by the Nashville Chapter of the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities and is listed on the U.S. National Registry of Historic Places. Belle Meade Plantation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Shawna Russell Releases Highly Anticipated Single 'Goddess' Today

    For Immediate Release:

Shawna Russell Releases Her Highly-Anticipated Debut Single "Goddess" Today, April 14

Way Out West/Nine Records Singer-Songwriter Begins National Radio Tour in Her Home State of Oklahoma

NASHVILLE, TN (April 14, 2008) – Shawna Russell releases her debut single, "Goddess," today, April 14, on Way Out West/Nine North Records. The single will be available on CDX Vol. 446, CD single, and digitally via Play MPE and AirPlay Direct. The song will go for adds at radio on May 19.

Russell was in Nashville last week visiting top radio trade publications to kick-off her national radio tour which begins on Tuesday in her home state of Oklahoma. Russell charmed staff members of All Access, Country Aircheck, Music Row Magazine and Radio & Records/Billboard, with her music, powerful vocals, gentle feminine charm and million dollar smile.

The CMA has named her as one of the "Who New To Watch Artists in 2008," and critical acclaim and buzz have been building around the Okemah, Oklahoma native since the release of her debut CD Goddess during the Country Radio Seminar in March.

The disc has received rave reviews from Country Stars Online, Maverick Magazine, Nashville Music Guide, and others.

Country Weekly gave high praise in their April 7 edition saying, "Her promising debut is contemporary country soaked in the influence of 1970's country-rock and California pop. It's a winning fusion that evokes the era's sense of mystery while remaining grounded in the present."

Last week, The Oklahoman stated, "Judging from Shawna Russell's promising debut album, Oklahoma likely will be adding another country superstar to its brag book."

During the rest of April, Russell will also visit radio in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina. She is scheduled to continue across the country in May and June, in between concert dates in her home region. Russell, a veteran performer since the age of 13, takes it all in stride. "It's an exciting time for me. I'm anxious to get out to radio and see how my music is accepted. I know it will be fast-paced – but I'm ready for it!"

Russell co-wrote "Goddess" along with her father, Keith Russell, and her uncle, producer, Tim Russell. "The message in the song "Goddess" is from the stand-point of a confident woman who wants to convey to someone that she has feelings for that, 'you have this perfect image of an ideal woman in your mind, and that has let you down, but I can be everything you want - and more. I can be the one you dream of.' "

Russell will make a return trip to Music City in June when she will perform during the CMA Music Fest at the "Hard Rock Café" stage on June 5.

Heading up national promotion for "Goddess" is Larry Pareigis and his team at Nine North Records; Rick Kelly and Marco Music Group for Music Row radio, and Bill Wence of Bill Wence Promotions for Secondary Country Radio, and album promotion to the Americana, AAA, and College formats.

And there is more! To complete an already incredible line-up, the Vanderbilt Programming Board's Music Group is pleased to announce the additions of Lady Antebellum and Wild Sweet Orange to this year’s Rites of Spring.

With a unique blend of harmonies reminiscent of classic country, a soulfulness of 1960s R&B and the heart-on-the-sleeve openness of 1970s singer-songwriters, all with a keen edge of contemporary country, Lady Antebellum is one of country music’s brightest new talents and is poised to make a huge impact on the music world. The band, which came together in 2006, already has a long list of accomplishments, including being named one of Billboard’s “New Faces to watch in 2008,” one of the “Eight to Watch in ’08” by The Boston Globe and “the next BIG thing” by Nashville Lifestyles. In addition, the band recently received its first major honor, an Academy of Country Music nomination for “Top New Group.”

Like Lady Antebellum, Wild Sweet Orange is quickly becoming a name on the scene. Wild Sweet Orange blends solid indie rock with rural charm and southern sensibilities, making a potent combination that is simultaneously intimate and rousing. Compared to Bright Eyes meets The Old 97s, this band is bringing something fresh to the genre and is a must see for the weekend.

"We are excited to be adding Wild Sweet Orange and Lady Antebellum to the Rites of Spring line-up,” said David Silverstein, co-chair of the Vanderbilt Programming Board’s Music Group. “Both bands are great talents and it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce them to Vandy students and the community before they hit big.”

AMBER RHODES AN AMERICAN IDOL HOPEFUL

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    April 10, 2008

STRAY DOG MUSIC'S AMBER RHODES AN AMERICAN IDOL HOPEFUL
Rhodes' Song Submission Selected As Season Finale Contender In "American Idol—Songwriter"

NASHVILLE, Tennessee— Amber Rhodes (Stray Dog Music), who released her debut single "So Long Goodbye" to country radio in the Fall (2007) and was named "Who New to Watch" in 2008 (CMA Close-Up Magazine), has now also become "Idol" worthy! Rhodes' underground song entitled "We're Gonna Make It" (written with Hugh Colocott and Noel Cohen) is among the top 20 songs in the running to be performed on the 2008 "American Idol" season finale.

Among the thousands of songs submitted, "We're Gonna Make It" is particularly personal to Amber. "I spend a lot of time traveling to and from Music City, Nashville and the Big Apple," the songwriter and recording artist introduced. "…which leaves a lot of time spent separated from the one that I love. This was my personal, musical message to him to tell him that no matter what, 'we're gonna make it.'" Delivering an uplifting, positive and reassuring message, the tune resembles the hope, strength and confidence "American Idol" enables its participants.

Via an online ranking system, registered AmericanIdol.com visitors can choose the song to be performed by the winner on this season's "America Idol" finale. Voters are encouraged to judge the song based on melody, lyrics, and overall song composition as "the perfect fit" for America's next American Idol. (http://songwriter.americanidol.com) Voting ends on April 23 at which time the winning song will be announced.

In addition to lending his talents to Amber's contending "Idol" tune, co-writer Hugh Colocott has been instrumental in making a significant contribution to Rhodes' debut CD entitled GOODBYE YESTERDAY (co-produced by Grammy Award winning engineers and producers Axel Niehaus and Erik Steiner/Stray Dog Music). Her lead single from the CD ("So Long Goodbye") is currently No. 38 on the Music Row charts. The label is set to release Rhode's follow-up single "Leave It Up To You"
(produced by A. Niehaus/E. Steinert/K. Lehning) in the coming weeks.

"It was a songwriting competition...I really never had any expectations." Rhodes added. "What is a personal message for me, may become a powerful message for all of America! How special is that?"

Tracy & Eddie Montgomery To Receive Key To The City

    ,
TRACY & EDDIE MONTGOMERY TO RECEIVE KEY TO THE CITY

Danville, KY – The Danville City Commission will recognize Country Music entertainer Eddie Montgomery and his wife Tracy at the next regular meeting, on April 14, 2008, at 5:30 PM. Mayor Hugh Coomer and the Board of Commissioners will recognize them for their charitable efforts in helping the fire department’s Christmas Toy Drive the past few years. Mayor Coomer cited the efforts of the couple, both in raising more than $20,000 over the past five years for the Toy Program, to bringing country music fans to Boyle County, where they reside.

Eddie, half of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, has appeared in the Middle East to meet and greet American soldiers stationed overseas, and has been a strong advocate in supporting military personnel and their families. Closer to home, he and Tracy have appeared across the state and the country in support of various groups and organizations, lending their names to various charitable enterprises. This sense of community and local spirit also factored in Mayor Coomer’s efforts to recognize the Montgomery family’s efforts.

Danville Fire Department records show that nearly $4,000 a year has been raised either through events or donations made by the couple to the Christmas Toy Drive. Their fan base has brought several truckloads of new toys given for distribution to needy children and families during the holidays. The Boyle County couple has organized several bus events, where they displayed tour buses used by top acts including Britney Spears, Faith Hill and their own Montgomery Gentry bus. Eddie and Tracy also spent many hours meeting and greeting their fans, some from several states away.

During those appearances, the Montgomery troop have endured freezing winds and steady rains, staying long after their scheduled appearance times to make sure fans got a chance to get a picture, an autograph, or to exchange a few words.

In addition to the proclamation Monday, the couple has expressed support for a fund-raiser on April 30 in Danville in support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Baskin-Robbins will be holding a 31-cent scoop night nation wide, and will donate $100,000 to the NFFF, which assists families who have lost firefighters in the line of duty. Local storeowners Bennie and George Thompson have welcomed Eddie and Tracy’s participation in recognizing hometown heroes in the fire service.

Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Becky Schlegel Makes Nat'l Debut With FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE - June 17

    For Immediate Release

Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Becky Schlegel Makes National Debut With FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE, June 17

“Meticulously arranged settings that combine elements of bluegrass and contemporary country/folk in a way that complements her gemlike songs.” -Bluegrass Unlimited

“You’ve got some notes there in your voice that make an older person feel faint -makes cowboys order an extra beer.” - Garrison Keillor

Nashville, TN (April 10, 2008) – Multi-award winning singer/songwriter Becky Schlegel makes her national debut with FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE (Lilly Ray/IGO Records) on June 17. Although an indie artist, Schlegel has quietly built an impressive cross-genre (Americana, Bluegrass & Country) fan base since 1999, helped in part by frequent appearances on National Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion and RFD-TV’s Midwest Country Theater. Now, with distribution throughout North America via Select-O-Hits and marketing by IGO Records, Becky’s music (which has been compared to Alison Krauss, Sara McLaughlin and Jewel) will be available in stores nationwide for the first time.

From the haunting slide of Bo Ramsey’s guitar that opens the disc’s title track, the spell is cast on this 11-song collection – and Schlegel’s voice treads the border between vulnerability and passion with an easy grace. The rolling keyboard of Rich Dworsky and Kenny Wilson’s steel guitar lend the perfect support to Schlegel’s sweet goodbye on “Bound For Tennessee;” while the magical Appalachian feel of “Jenny” is timeless, shining with Jeff Midkiff’s mandolin, Brian Fesler’s gritty acoustic guitar and Becky’s poignant vocal. “Lonely” is stunning in its simplicity – the track consists solely of two acoustic guitars and Schlegel’s ethereal soprano; while the driving “99%” bristles with Fesler’s fiery banjo and a pounding acoustic bass. Becky’s compositions give aficionados of extraordinary musicianship - and students of human emotion - plenty to enjoy on this album.

Schlegel’s two previous CDs, RED LEAF and DRIFTER LIKE ME, have earned her numerous awards, and the Minnesota Music Academy has honored her for five consecutive years. In 2003 and 2005, Becky performed at the IBMA’s prestigious Songwriters’ Showcase, and she continues to entertain fans at festivals and concerts across the Midwest.

FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE is co-produced by Schlegel and Brian Fesler and will be available in stores and online through all the popular e-tailers on JUNE 17.

George Strait's Troubadour Debuts At #1

GEORGE STRAIT'S TROUBADOUR DEBUTS AT #1 ON BILLBOARD 200 AND TOP COUNTRY ALBUMS CHART

Nashville, TN (April 9, 2008) The "King of Country Music's" 37th album, Troubadour, debuted at #1 today on the Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart.

This is the third time in Strait's career that a new album has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the 11th time debuting at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

Currently, George Strait has 32 platinum albums (13 of which are multi-platinum). The only recording artists with more RIAA certified platinum albums are The Beatles with 39 and Elvis Presley with 45.

It makes perfect sense that Entertainment Weekly proclaims, "George Strait is the most reliable record-maker and biggest one-man hit factory in any genre of music." USA Today calls him a "Singer's Singer" and The Dallas Morning News reports, "Few artists, country or otherwise, have remained so consistent for so long. George Strait is a treasured rarity."

The first single from Troubadour, "I Saw God Today," sits at the #2 spot on the country radio charts this week. If the song reaches #1, it will be Strait's 56th #1 single.

With a career that spans more than 25 years, Strait has sold more than 67 million records and counting. He has received more than 50 major entertainment industry awards and countless nominations. In 2006, Strait was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame, one of the few artists to receive such a distinction while still actively recording and producing music.

He is currently nominated for ACM Entertainer of the Year for the 10th time and has the distinct honor of XM Radio dedicating an entire channel to his music during the next two months. "Strait Country" will be available from April 1 through May 31 on XM channel 17 and also available on online (http://friends.experiencexm.com/k/bUxmNp0blQVJB4kNBCYMBggHDwM=/).

CMA Close Up Spotlights Zane Lewis in April/May issue

Zane Lewis Featured In CMA’s April/May CLOSE UP Artist Debut Spotlight

Talks about Garland Opry, “Texas Spoon” Margaritas & Stint As Magazine Publisher

Nashville, TN (April 7, 2008) – Country-rockin’ artist Zane Lewis is featured in the April/May issue of CMA’s CLOSE UP magazine’s Artist Debut Spotlight. The fifth-generation Texan confesses to a student diet that was heavy on “Texas Spoon” Blue Everclear margaritas; admits to a short stint in advertising (“I was successful, but it wasn’t enough fun”), and a short, but profitable stint as a magazine publisher. Making music is Lewis’ third professional “incarnation.” “I didn’t start singing ‘outside of the shower’ until 1997,” he says. “For years I just drove my roommates crazy – I belted out the Garth, Haggard and Strait until I found my own style.”

With influences ranging from Charlie Daniels to Van Halen, Elvis and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lewis’ style is a compelling mix of traditional country and edgy Southern Rock. He got his start on the world-famous Garland Opry, and he’s been focused on the music ever since. His new CD, ZANE LEWIS, landed in stores nationwide on March 25 and his current single, “Come With Me,” sits at #41 on the Texas Music Chart, and holds the #59 spot on the current Music Row chart.

This issue is the second time Lewis has appeared on the pages of CLOSE UP; in the Feb/March issue he was named one of the CMA’s Who New To Watch in 2008. Zane’s on the first leg of a 70-plus station radio promo tour, and he (along with his seven-piece band) are burnin’ up a “dancehall” and “honky-tonk” tour that includes dates in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee.

PICKED AS TWO ‘BREAKOUT’ ARTISTS TO WATCH FOR IN 2008

NASHVILLE, TN – April 7, 2008 – On Monday, April 21, Good Morning America’s spring concert series sponsored by Royal Carribean will host performances by country music’s “Breakout” artists of 2008, Lady Antebellum and Ashton Shepherd.

Capitol Records Nashville trio Lady Antebellum’s self-titled debut album will be released on April 15. The trio’s debut single “Love Don’t Live Here” is currently #14 on R&R and #12 on Mediabase. ITunes chose "Love Don't Live Here" as their high profiled mainpage "Single of the Week" for the week of March 25 - rare for a country artist. They were just recently nominated for the Academy of Country Music’s “Top New Group” – their first major award nomination. This nomination only adds to the trio’s long list of recent accomplishments including being named one of Billboard’s “New Faces to watch in 2008” (the only country artist to make the list ), MSN Music chose them to be in their "Class of 2008" , The Boston Globe named the trio one of the “Eight to Watch in ‘08”, Country Weekly chose the band as “Who’s Hot in 2008”, and Nashville Lifestyles named Lady Antebellum “the next BIG thing.” The band, just coming off Martina McBride's Waking Up Laughing tour, will hit the road again this spring opening for artists such as Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood.

MCA recording artist Ashton Shepherd started singing as soon as she could talk and began writing songs when she was only five years old. Now, at 21 years of age, Ashton’s debut album, SOUNDS SO GOOD, has just been released. Ashton wrote eleven of the twelve tracks on the record, which has received critical acclaim by USA Today, Associated Press, Billboard and Chicago Tribune. In addition, she’s been named one of “Nashville’s Hottest New Stars” by People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly proclaims “Shepherd’s CD is the best mainstream country debut since Taylor Swift’s in 06.” Future plans for Ashton include performing on the Grand Ole Opry April 26 and opening shows for Sugarland, Miranda Lambert and Rascal Flatts.

Gill, who was ranked #43 on the list (up 3 from 2007), has been recognized for the fifth straight year on the prestigious list. This most recent honor follows closely on the heels of Gill's being included among the "250 Most Influential Talk Hosts" in the country by Talkers Magazine (www.talkers.com) and his recent inclusion as a columnist for Pajamas Media (www.pajamasmedia.com) a newly popular conservative website.

The Steve Gill Show, the only statewide syndicated radio talk show in

EDDIE MONTGOMERY BREAKS GROUND ON RESTAURANT AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

    ,
EDDIE MONTGOMERY BREAKS GROUND ON RESTAURANT AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Harrodsburg, KYApril 2, 2008 - Local community leaders and officials were present today to see singer Eddie Montgomery, of country duo Montgomery Gentry, break ground on a new restaurant and 40-acre commercial development off the U.S. 127 bypass in southern Harrodsburg.

Skylar’s Landing, a Montgomery and Mitchell development, is named after Montgomery’s granddaughter. The development will feature a variety of shopping venues and numerous commercial lots available for purchase, as well as Montgomery’s signature restaurant.

Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse will be approximately 16,000 square feet with seating for 265 guests. Specializing in premium steaks and family atmosphere, the log-structured restaurant will have a lodge theme complete with stone fireplaces, waterfalls, and a stage to showcase musicians from around the country.

"Live music has kind of gone away and I want to help bring it back,” said Montgomery. “This has always been a dream of mine."

Montgomery’s business partners, Tommy and Gwen Mitchell of Rocky Top Log Furniture and Railing in Garrard County, said the development is already receiving substantial attention.

“We’re receiving inquiries from all over the country,” said Tommy Mitchell. “From local interests to national chains, there are so many people who want to be a part of this development.”

The local community is also sharing in the excitement. Harrodsburg Mayor Lonnie Campbell said the development is instrumental for the growth of commerce and tourism in both the city and Mercer County.

Ultimately, Montgomery wants to give back to the area in which he grew up by increasing opportunities for Harrodsburg and the surrounding communities.

"This area and Kentucky and the man upstairs have given so much to me that I would just love to give a little bit back," said Montgomery. “I want to do something that everyone in the community can be proud of.”

Construction is scheduled for completion this fall. For current updates and more information, please visit www.eddiemontgomerysteakhouse.com .

JOHN RICH OFFERS NASHVILLE MUSIC COMMUNITY AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET RICH

JOHN RICH OFFERS NASHVILLE MUSIC COMMUNITY

    AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET RICH

NASHVILLE – April 1, 2008 – Warner Bros. Records artist John Rich is helping promote Nashville's music community by hosting a monthly talent competition called the “Get Rich Talent Search.” A packed crowd gathered last night to check out 10 local artist/bands that were hand-picked by Rich to perform for Music Row executives.

“I remember when I was 17 coming out to Nashville and trying to do what I do now. I didn't know where to play or who to see,” said Rich. “I read that the Broken Spoke had a weekly talent competition and I went down to try out. Judy Martin ran the event; she gave me my first opportunity to play in town. I watched artists like Tracy Lawrence perform and it gave me an idea of what was out there at the time, and to see what kind of talent I was up against. It was one of the best things to help me grow as an artist. I hope this talent search will give people the start and the break they need to do what they love."

In addition to reviewing over 800 submissions and whittling it down to the top 10, Rich gathered a Music Row dream team to come out and judge the local talent. Bill Bennett (Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Records), Scott Hendricks (Sr. Vice President of A&R, Warner Bros. Records), Marc Oswald (Manager, Dale Morris & Associates), Greg Oswald (Sr. Vice President, William Morris Agency), Herky Williams (Assistant Vice President of Creative Services, ASCAP) and BMI Songwriter of the Year, Vicky McGhee were on hand to rate the talent.

The "Get Rich Talent Search" will take place on the final Monday of each month at 12th & Porter . Contestants compete for a top prize of $300, second prize of $200 and third prize of $100. For consideration for future talent searches, artists can submit entries to GetRichTalentSearch@gmail.com. Once they send an email to this address, additional info will be sent back to them on where to send CDs, pictures and bio info.

Country Is His Rock at Tin Pan South 2008

Country Is His Rock at Tin Pan South 2008

(NASHVILLE, TN) - This year’s Tin Pan South event in Nashville, TN is better than ever with an impressive roster of songwriters all week long. Among these writers, there is one in particular, from Kennett, Missouri, that stands out… Trent Tomlinson. With a former basketball star as a father who groomed him for a career in basketball, Trent hardly had the “easy road” to musical stardom. "The trouble was," says Trent, "I could score 32 points and on the way home he'd be on me about why I didn't take the charging foul in the fourth quarter."

While his father may have had sports-destined dreams for him, it was Trent’s mother who encouraged him to play the piano. When Trent realized that it was difficult to cart the piano around from gig to gig, he taught himself how to play the guitar. It wasn’t until Trent auditioned and was the runner-up in TNN's talent show "You Can Be A Star," that things started snowballing in the right direction. The final round of the talent competition brought him to Nashville and from there were a string of publishing deals, as Trent tried to make a living writing and playing his music.

Finally there was a turning point when Trent got a deal with Cal IV Entertainment which, in turn, led him to his current home with Lyric Street Records. "Luckily," he says, "my vision was their vision." Even his father is behind him now. "At one time," he laughs, "he thought it was all a pipe dream. Now he's calling with song ideas."

Trent has had three cuts on the first Emerson Drive record, a Sara Evans cut called, “Missin’ Missouri”, and another cut by George Strait. Trent’s debut album with Lyric Street Records, “Country Is My Rock”, released February 21, 2006, has eleven original tracks, from which it is hard to choose just one favorite song. "My songs," he says simply, "are real-life situations with kick-ass guitar." "It's 'open a beer, sit in a lawn chair, let's have a party' country," he says of his music. "At the same time, the songs are saying, 'I have the ability to love you, to understand,' and at the end of the day all that matters is Mama and Daddy and going to heaven. That pretty much sums everything up.” His album has turned many heads and radio loves him. The next step is to see him live, and what better way to do that, than to check him out on the second day of this year’s Tin Pan South event.

Trent will be at 3rd and Lindsley Bar and Grill on April 2, 2008 along with Anthony L. Smith, Lisa Carver and Ira Dean for this year’s Tin Pan South event. Tickets are $10 at the door and the show starts at 6:30pm. For more information on Trent Tomlinson, go to
